Hello and welcome back to my 2016 December Daily album! I do hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready for just a little bit more inspiration before we pack it all up for the year. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day and I am so excited to share with you how I documented these special days. Today I am sharing the 20th, 21st and 22nd. Have a peek:
This is what the 20th and 21st looked like as Foundation Pages:
These are the completed pages for 20 and 21, side by side in the album itself:
Let's have a look at the 20th in detail. My story for this day is about the endless shopping we did! We were literally going to some kind of store every single day!
My first pocket is a filler pocket with this amazing transparency from Pinkfresh Studio. I have simply layered over white card stock and adhered in place with washi tape from Amy Tangerine.
I used this mint card from the Ali Edwards main kit for my journaling. I added messy lines with black ink, and wrote the journaling using a Sharpie brand paint pen. The number 20 is layered on top of another transparent card from Pinkfresh Studio.
My photo for this day is a simple selfie taken with Alan on one of our jaunts to the store. At this point we are still smiling. Ha!
For the 21st I did a little journaling about missing my parents and trying to focus on the good that is around me. I took a photo of some ornaments I have on a dish in the dining room, and then added my text using the Path tool in Photoshop to follow the shape of the dish.
I always do a layout similar to this in my December Daily albums, highlighting what Advent means to me that particular year. There are always a few days prior to Christmas where Nick and Natalie go back to their dad's house and it gets quiet, good time to reflect and recenter before the big day.
I wish I could remember where this wood veneer card came from. It has been in my stash for about five years now! I am fairly certain it was Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages, forgive me if I am wrong about that! It seemed a good time to use it and I love it next to the gold card from Paislee Press. I am sure others used this card right side up as a Christmas tree, maybe? But I see it as a banner.
My number card is layered using one of the number tags from the 2015 Ali Edwards main kit and held in place using a brad from My Mind's Eye. The last card on this page is from the Paislee Press mini kit and I have added a floral puffy sticker from Freckled Fawn.
For the 22nd, I began with this as my Foundation page:
This layout became one of those that inevitably gets changed up completely in the design process. And that is totally ok. I love the end result:
My story for this layout is about being totally done with Christmas shopping. We braved Target three days before Christmas and it was insane. I actually said to my husband that I did not wish to go back to Target for the rest of 2016!
Earlier in October or November Target sent out their holiday mailer and I held it because I knew it would be cool to use it somewhere in December Daily. I wasn't wrong - this spread showing their adorable ornaments is the perfect backdrop for this simple story. My number is this adorable number 22 from Sahlin Studio. For the back of the Wish card I added a glitter star from Freckled Fawn.
My title, created using the Freckled Fawn puffy alphabet, is the only journaling. Simple and done.
That is all for today! I do hope to bring the remainder of this album to completion by the end of this week, because I am ready to clear everything and begin the new year. January may be a bit spotty as I transition back into Project Life 2016 and 2014, and plan a couple of new projects as well, and of course I am looking forward to starting Project Life 2017 too! See you soon!
