Hi there, I have another step in my process today for creating my December Daily foundation pages. My strategy this year is to create the foundation pages in an assembly-line style, rather than each day at a time. I want to share the whole process with you, and so today I am creating the transparency dividers that I want to use in between the days of December.
So you probably know by now that I really, truly, with all my heart love transparencies. Back when December Daily first began, we all began using transparencies to divide up the days. Recent years that trend has faded, but some people do still do that. I did not do that last year because I found it added bulk (one of the reasons people stopped doing it). But this year, with a larger 6x12 format, I think that I will have the room for the transparencies.
The transparencies I have used are a combination of two I made myself and others I have collected throughout the year. The two I made myself using a star stencil from Crafter's Workshop and texture pastes from Faber Castell (links below).
Then I added the tabs you have seen in the sneak photos I have shared already. I used the little tiny number strips that were in the One Little Bird mini kit that was sold as part of last year's December Daily collection from Ali Edwards. I used several of the patterned papers from this years kits (the Ali Edwards Main kit and Liz Tamanaha's Paislee Press Mini kit) to layer the numbers and create the tabs. For the others, I used number stamps from Prima.
One thing I love about creating the foundation pages this way is that it helps me make decisions without really even knowing I am making decisions. For example, I cut the transparencies in random order, and placed them in the album in that random order. That way I didn't have to decide which transparency to use on any given day, it was already done.
I know I am holding you guys in suspense because you just want to see the foundation pages already! Next week I will share my process for working with the journaling cards, then I will embellish, and then I will share the full foundation flip-through. I think it is good to share the actual process for creating these first, especially for newcomers to the project, or for those who might be overwhelmed with the idea of foundation pages. Hopefully you are still finding inspiration! Thank you for following along and for encouraging me!
