Hi guys! Today I am sharing my first layout in my Gardener's Notebook! I like to document the flowers we plant in our front yard each year and a traveler's notebook is always the perfect place to do that. Today I am using the Gossamer Blue June TN and Life Pages kits.
Let's have a look at this fun layout!
You guys, I am loving the Gossamer Blue traveler's notebook kits each month! The colors are perfect and go with lots of different types of photos, and they are beautiful with my photos in this layout about our yard.
The very first thing I did was fussy cut this flower from the floral patterned paper in the kit. Oh I love it so much and it goes perfect! I loved adding little tiny details from the kit around my photo here, including the stripe tag and the file tab.
I have to freely admit that I am not really a yard-type person. My parents spent lots of time in their yard when I was growing up, and back then I never understood it! But when Alan and I built this house, we did all the landscaping ourselves. We shaped the flower beds ourselves, and planted everything together. So I feel a tremendous connection to this little space of land, and have enjoyed cultivating it a little at a time! Almost every night Alan and I are out there watering and caring for this little blooms of happiness!
The first thing we did this year was clear out the flower beds, put down new straw, and add two new plants at the corner of the house. In order to accommodate them we also had to expand the border a bit. These stones are my favorites - I love taking photos of the rounded shapes they make in the grass! We added a camellia and a tree called a Japanese anise this year. So far they are doing great!
I began my layout today with a wide washi tape in a mint green pattern that came from Staples. I love to add those washis in the center so they can tie the two sides together. Then I layered a patterned paper on the right hand side. Photos + embellishments, and then I also layered the stamps as well. The washi tape stamp and these triangles were lots of fun!
See you back here again soon!
