Hi guys! Today I am sharing my Week 03 layout in my 2017 Project Life album. I am using the template I shared in my last tutorial by Sahlin Studio, printed at home, and today I will embellish the layout. Have a look at my process here:
So once a month Sahlin Studio releases a free template and this month I decided to make excellent use of that template in my Project Life layout. I am so glad I did - it's a gorgeous, easy to use template and converting it to 12x24 was easy-peasy as well. Here is how the completed layout turned out!
I also used the patterned papers and digital elements available in the Sahlin Studio Hello Sampler kit. I chose two different patterns for each side of my layout and love how that looks. Here is the left hand side:
Our week was so busy and I had lots of photos for this week. Yay! Nick had a school assignment that involved creating a dragon out of floral foam and we had so much fun creating that dragon! He also made a 100 on the assignment, so that is why I stamped that number at the top of the photos. Alan and I are practicing yoga together - I have to say it is a powerful exercise to do as a couple. It kicks my butt every time but we get to spend quiet time together. So awesome. I also wanted to include one of my head shots I took when I was creating the Introduction video for this album. I completely enjoyed creating those photos!
Typically when I print digital elements at home, I print them both on vellum and cardstock, and then cut them using my Silhouette. The elements in the Hello Sampler were perfect!
Let's have a look at the right hand side!
This girl turned 12 this week and it is always so much fun to celebrate with her! She loves her birthday so much and every present is happiness for her. Love it! So I made this whole layout about her day - fantastic decision. I loved having the space to include several photos. Awesome!
I have to admit I was not sure how I would feel about having smaller photos on my layout in this year's album. It is something I wanted to try and at least give it a chance, because I have been wanting to include more photos in these weekly layout sometimes. I am glad I gave it a chance, because I really am loving it. I love having larger photos too, and love including the smaller ones to tell more of the stories.
And even with so many photos, I still had space for a fun filler card!
