{Traditional Layout} Things I Need to Hear | Take Time To Recharge

Hi guys! Today I am continuing my Things I Need to Hear series with a traditional layout called Take Time to Recharge.

Thank you so very much to each and every person who has encouraged me along this series. These layouts are a joy to create and I am loving the affirming reminders every week, along with creative process. These feed my soul, and I hope you are gaining inspiration too. This is my completed layout for this week.

My layout began with a photo of me and my gold polka dot tea mug. I recently found a vanilla tea that reminds me of my childhood in Germany and so I have been taking time throughout the week to just sit down and enjoy a cup. Photo credit: Alan.

I took a little time to add a mist background using the Rosey Posey cut file available at The Cut Shoppe, link here. After that I added stitching using my sewing machine, in concentric circles around the floral designs. This became the basis for all my embellishments.

My embellishment clusters each center around a round ephemera or chipboard circle. To each of those I added a shaped paper clip, a floral embellishment, or a chipboard phrase.

My title is stamped using the Oasis alphabet set and stickers from Simple Stories. Not complicated at all, and most definitely a gentle reminder to be good to ourselves.

I think what has motivated this whole series is the fact that I miss my mom and I miss her words of wisdom and I miss her reminders to me to take care of myself. I miss the days she came to visit when I was sick, and in one quick afternoon she would have the whole house cleaned, dinner made, and the kids taken care of. So my journaling are what I wish her words would be to me, if I could talk to her on the phone.
