Hi guys and Happy Friday! Today I work on my Traveler’s Notebook and am continuing to document our recent trip to Charleston, SC. Have a look at today’s process video:
When I left off last week I was undecided about whether this page was done. So I did end up adding just a tiny bit at the top.
At the top of the layout I added a small stamped banner and just a few enamel dots from Freckled Fawn.
At the bottom just a rubber circle embellishment from Pinkfresh Studio and another few enamel dots.
The next page begins the next day of our trip, and on that day we started out at the Charleston Visitor Center to grab some maps and ephemera and then hop on the trolley.
I added a flip page using one of the journaling cards from Gossamer Blue. This is the back side.
I wanted to be sure to note the days in this book, because that seems to be a charming thing about traveler’s notebooks that I love. I used Kerri Bradford’s Ashland alphabet and number stamps, along with a half yellow label and a banner.
At the bottom of this photo I added another stamp from Gossamer Blue. This may be too much, but then again it is my notebook to do what I like and so be open when you do what you like. Be open that it might not be a “correct” design decision, and that really is ok.
I included my journaling on the insert card here.
I think for me part of keeping the design of this notebook simple is to keep journaling in one space on the layout. I love notebooks that have journaling all around the page, by the way. But in this one I committed to keeping the journaling contained. Washi tapes and a few stamps add just the tiny bit of embellishment.
On the back side I added a photo of Broad Street.
This photo only has one embellishment: word art from Ali Edwards’ Passport Pinterest promotion. By the way, she has added that collection to her shop so it is now available for purchase!
On the facing page I added a portion of our map and then layered our photo on top.
The map makes the background slightly busy, so I only added one tiny circle embellishment from Pinkfresh Studios.
Lots more to come in this notebook, but first let’s have a weekend off and then I will see you back here on Monday for art journaling!
